Changes to the Libraries' Homepage
Information for
Faculty and Graduate Students Now Easier to Find
During the summer, the Libraries developed a
new homepage (best viewed using Internet Explorer or Netscape
7.1 browsers). And there's more: coming soon, a new version
of the homepage for those using older browsers (Netscape version
4 or earlier), as well as a version that will be readable
by voice transcription software.
An important goal of the new homepage was to
increase the ease with which different groups, especially
faculty and graduate students, can find information pertaining
especially to them. On the right-hand panel of the Libraries
home page (http://www.library.yorku.ca),
there are now headings for undergraduates, graduate students,
and faculty, and there will soon be one as well for (non-York)
community members.
The aim of these pages is to group information
that is relevant to faculty and graduate students so that
it's only a click away. So, while much of the information
on these index pages can also be found under each of the main
headings on the home page, it's grouped together on the faculty
and graduate students' page for easy reference. Over time,
more specialized content for each of these groups will be
developed and expanded for these "user" pages.
