Join us for the 3rd Annual YORKwrites reception
Mingle with fellow colleagues to celebrate the recent output by York creators and innovators. Speakers include President Mamdouh Shoukri and Vice-President, Research and Innovation Stan Shapson. There will be music, refreshments and displays of recent scholarly, research and creative work. York University Bookstores will feature York-authored works for sale. The work of many types of York creators and innovators - particularly new work from 2008 - will be featured, and this year’s reception will highlight Science and Engineering through posters, presentations, displays and keynote speaker Dr. Paul Delaney, Director of the Natural Sciences Division, Faculty of Science and Engineering.

YORKwrites has been enthusiastically received. Previous attendees speak highly of the annual reception, calling it a tasteful and impressive event and a pleasant environment in which to meet with colleagues from different departments and faculties and discuss a broad range of works in a variety of fields. Others applaud the initiative’s success in promoting York faculty’s prolific output across many disciplines and in helping to raise the University’s research and creative profiles.
YORKwrites has created an online database with over 2,000 bibliographic citations to works authored or edited by York University faculty, students, staff and alumni, using the popular bibliographic citation management software RefWorks. This database is may be downloaded, is fully searchable and an RSS feed for new entries is available.
