2.5 million and counting:
How you can help us build York’s collections

York University benefits from one of the finest research collections in Canada.  By some standards we are a young collection (50 years in the making) but we have made up for lost time.  Our collections now boast over 2.5 million volumes in the collection and our catalogue includes many more items such as sound and video recordings, archival papers, maps, data, microfilm, online databases, etc.

We are committed to continuing to build rich collections to support the research, teaching and learning needs of the York community.  Key to the development of our collections is the role that you as faculty or graduate students can play in helping us build and shape our collections.  Our liaison librarians pay special attention to the feedback we get from our researchers who use our resources.

You can help us by sending us your suggestions in one of two ways:

• You can contact your liaison librarian directly, or
• You can submit your request using an online form

If you discover a title we do not have, you can also consider making an interlibrary loan request using RACER.  We routinely review these requests to identify areas of the collection to strengthen.
