The York University Libraries’ new website was launched during the first week of September this year, and we hope you’ve been exploring its great new features, as well as using the functions that are more familiar to you.
Below we’ve highlighted our top ten favorite features designed to make the site more useful to you as researchers and teachers. Now you have more ways than ever to make use of the vast array of library resources and services!

The hours of each library and study area are posted daily, so you know exactly what’s open, where, and how long. For a full list of York libraries and departments, you can click on the Libraries & collections text. |

3. Quick Links >>
The most used links are provided on the left side of the home page for easy and fast reference. Find the most commonly used functions: catalogue searches, browse subject research guides, check your library account, renew items and access interlibrary loan facilities – all on one page! |

The Faculty Library Guide: The guide groups together many of the links and features from the former Faculty and Grad Students page of the website. Items of relevance to a faculty audience are grouped on the left side of the page. Four new additions to this guide are highlighted below: |

5. Faculty Library Guide: Organize your Research >>
This section introduces you to bibliographic software that helps you keep track of citations, and to LibX, a Firefox (browser) plug-in customized by York University librarians.
Use LibX to search the library catalogue from any database or a website – or highlight text in a web page, right-click and quickly perform a 'context menu' search in the catalogue.
