New Librarians at the York University Libraries

Bibliographic Services

B. Stearns

This fall, Brian Stearns has joined Bibliographic Services for the next three years. Brian comes to the Libraries from the University of Alberta, where he worked as a cataloguing librarian.  He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Information Studies degree.

Brian's academic background from Queen's University includes a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and English language and literature, and a Certificate in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Studies.  He also worked in the cataloguing unit of Massey Library at Kingston’s Royal Military College of Canada.

A. Lauder

Adam Lauder has joined the Libraries for a two year term as the first W.P. Scott Chair for Research in e-Librarianship. He holds a Master in Information Studies degree from the University of Toronto and an MA in Art History from Concordia University.

Adam's research project encompasses many areas of e-librarianship including critical information studies, digital archives, scholarly communication and metadata standards, and he will apply the catalogue raisonné publication model in an online environment, focusing on Canadian conceptual artist IAIN BAXTER&.  For more information on this project, see the article in this newsletter.

J. Borie

Frost Library, Glendon College

Juliya Borie is a new Reference Librarian at Frost Library for the 2010-11 academic year.  

Juliya holds a Master of Information Studies degree from the University of Toronto, as well as a BA (Honours) degree in French and English from Glendon College and a Bachelor of Education, also from York University.

Scott Reference

D. Craig

Dana Craig, already a familiar face at the Libraries, is the newest member of the Scott Reference team.  Dana also has liaison responsibilities for environmental studies.

Dana holds a BSc (Honours) in Earth and Atmospheric Science and Geography from York University and a Master of Information Studies degree from the University of Toronto.  She may be contacted at ext.22834 or dcraig@yorku.ca.
