York University Libraries have created two new videos to help support users as they learn how to best use the catalogue to find library resources.
The first video introduces the Basic Search functions including searching, sorting your results and refining those results. The second video goes into more detail on the new Advanced Search function (launched in September 2010) as well as your options for obtaining library materials that are currently checked out, at a different campus, in process or in storage. Future library videos planned include a demonstration of the catalogue tools for saving, printing, and exporting your results.
The instructional videos can be accessed at any time from the main page of the library catalogue at http://www.library.yorku.ca/find/Search/Home.
Alternatively, you can access them directly from the library homepage by clicking Catalogue - Basic Search or Advanced Search - see the image at right for an illustration.
Please feel free to post links to these videos on your course website or Moodle!
