Our Graduate Students Have Spoken!
Over the last two years, the Libraries have been making a special effort to learn about the concerns that graduate students have around library services, resources, and space. The Report of Graduate Students Feedback on Library Services and Resources (PDF) is a summary of what we have been told and some notes on what the Libraries might do — or have already done — in response. We invite you to read it and share any thoughts you may have about it with Brent Roe, Associate University Librarian, Information Services.
Improvements to Graduate Study Space
One response to graduate student comments on Scott Library that we are especially excited about is a revitalization of the study space (Room 409) on the fourth floor of the Library as a reading room specifically for the use of graduate students. Based on focus group consultation with graduate students about this space, we are planning to improve the room’s environmental control, put in better study furniture, equip the room for computer use, and make it generally much more aesthetically appealing. We are hoping that this new graduate student reading room will be open for use this fall.
