The Learning Commons
The Learning Commons at York’s Scott Library is a state-of-the-art learning space where students can work individually or collaboratively in groups, with access to a variety of academic supports such as research, writing and learning skills assistance.

Phase 1 of the project to create collaborative, support and research spaces is complete. However, several technology-rich learning areas are much needed to advance the full transformation of this central feature and essential service on campus. We understand libraries must reflect the learning needs of today’s students. They are a place where learners can come together, interact, engage and assimilate knowledge and ideas outside the disciplinary structures of classrooms.
