Alumni

Upon presentation of a York Alumni Association card, which can be obtained from the Alumni Affairs Office (Room 060 West Office Building, 416-650-8159), York alumni may purchase a library card for $25.00. The card is valid for one year from date of issue. No portion of the fee will be refunded if a borrower ceases to use the card during this time.

An external borrower card entitles the holder to borrowing privileges with the exception of access to reserve collections, maps, and interlibrary loan. As Alumni you are welcome to open a one day guest account and make use of the open access computers found on the first floor of the Scott Library, the main floor of the Frost Library, the Peter F. Bronfman Business Library, and in the Engineering Lab of the Steacie Science and Engineering Building.

Due to vendor licensing agreements, external borrowers do not have remote access to periodical databases and some electronic journals. External Borrowers are allowed to borrow up to 15 books for a 14 day loan and to renew items once only. External Borrowers are eligible to request holds, intercampus borrowing, in process, and storage. Library cards are issued to external borrowers at Bronfman, Frost, Law, and Scott circulation service desks. Proof of identification will be requested. Lending regulations are outlined in the Libraries Lending Code. Notices are forwarded by electronic mail. Borrowing privileges may be withdrawn from any borrower who violates the regulations of York University Libraries.
