Alumni and Visitor Borrowing Privileges

The York University Libraries exist primarily to meet the information needs of students, faculty, and staff at this university. Limited library privileges are available to alumni and visitors. These include:

  • borrowing from our stacks with the exception of access to reserve collections, Maps, and Resource Sharing.
  • having up to 15 books checked out
  • having 14 day loan period
  • renewing items twice only
  • requesting holds, intercampus borrowing, in process, and storage

Library cards are issued to external borrowers at Bronfman, Frost, Law, and Scott Circulation Service Desks. Proof of identification will be requested. Lending regulations are outlined in the Libraries Lending Code. Your account will be blocked when fines reach $5.00. Borrowing privileges may be withdrawn from any borrower who violates the regulations of York University Libraries.
