Library Workshops
Tailored 601 Library Research Workshops
The Bronfman Business Library presents tailored workshops to support 601 research. Information about current workshop offerings can be consulted here including how to sign up.
All workshops are held in SSB S236.
Supporting materials including a powerpoint and research checklists have been developed to assist in your 601 research.
The workshops will be designed to help groups with secondary research as they embark on Phase 2 of the Strategy Field Study: Research and Strategic Assessment. Resources and strategies shown will assist in diverse areas including company research, industry research, market research and financial research. Instructors will share techniques and checklists to apply when conducting research on companies within diverse industrial sectors including: 1) industrial manufacturing, 2) consumer goods and services, 3) information technology and 4) resource industries, primarily mining. Workshops will assist groups on identifying specific full-text and numeric databases, available only to York University students, Internet sites and other print and electronic resources as well as associations, government agencies etc.
Citation / Reference Management
Workshops on how to simplify the creation of a bibliography and management of references and citations are organized periodically in partnership with Student Services at Schulich. This includes information on how to use tools such as Zotero and RefWorks.
Note to Faculty
Faculty who would like to arrange for customized library instruction, including supporting Web pages, are invited to contact their Liaison Librarian (Sophie Bury, Xuemei Li, Angie An or Kim Stymest) to discuss what services we can provide.
