SirsiDynix SuperConference 2006

The Sirsi SuperConference was held in Nashville, Tennessee and was attended by Nancy Hall, Bob Thompson, Linda Hansen and me. We had a busy three days attending sessions given by both Sirsi folks and users.

You can look at the overview of the sessions. The handouts from the presentations and slides from various powerpoint presentations are all available on the shared drive. You can also read my conference report to get an overview of the sessions I attended. I would also be happy to talk about any of the sessions from the Conference.

The conference was held at the Opryland Resort. It was really something else! This massive complex has over 2000 rooms. The really amazing thing are the atria: one contained a huge tropical garden, one a river with an island in the centre and a replica of a Southern town, another had numerous waterfalls and restaurants. I got lost trying to find my room despite my custom made map.

Although we were at session all day we did manage to get a little taste of Nashville culture.
One cannot go to the South and not have a little Southern cuisine! So off we went to the “Cock of the Walk” (it’s a restaurant–really) to have some cornbread, greens, fried catfish, fried chicken, and…deep fried pickles!

Linda was a big fan of the cornbread.

After attending one last round of sessions on Wednesday it was time to come home to Toronto.
