Cataloguing With RDA

Emily Dust Nimsakont is a cataloguing librarian at the Nebraska Library Commission in Lincoln, Nebraska. She has put together a very nice presentation covering the essentials you’ll need to know when cataloguing with RDA. Cataloging With RDA: An Overview is from a webinar she delivered for the Western New York Library Council last week.

It’s a very clear presentation and lays out what you’ll need to know to start getting ready for cataloguing with RDA. She covers the basics of FRBR and FRAD, some of the differences when compared to AACR2, changes to the MARC format, and details relating to the RDA testing timeline. She also provides a great list of resources at the end of her presentation. Recommended for a quick refresher of the concepts behind RDA and for generally getting ready RDA.
