Do not use the operators "and, or, not" in a title search, e.g. Title: Reflections on learning and living.
Message: "Invalid search expression-near living"
Action: Retry without "and".
Choosing LC Database
Message: "Unable to get initial response-Server closed connection" or "Cannot connect to LC"
Action: Click on "OK". Mark on Statistics sheet that LC can't connect.
Clear search term each time you search. If a previous ISBN remains on the screen and a new title is entered in the title search, a message may appear at the bottom of the screen:
"Server 'AG-Canada' – Search failed. Reason: Malformed query". Seems to occur if AG-Canada is connected.
Tags to Delete 650 – 6
Please delete the French heading (650 – 6) after importing the record into Yorkline.

Please leave in the English heading (650 – 5)
See e.g. a) Urban aboriginal persons with disabilities.
b) Pierres et lierres.

Please delete the English heading (650 – 4) only if there is an English heading 650 – 0.

Diacritics in records from databases other than LC WILL NOT APPEAR to be correct in the SmartPort display but WILL load into Yorkline correctly

Diacritics in records from the LC database WILL APPEAR to be correct in the SmartPort display but WILL NOT load intoYorkline correctly because of a problem with the LC database. Please do not import LC records containing diacritics into Yorkline.
