Bibliographic Services catalogued 2,919 titles in February 2001.

CATALOGUE ENHANCEMENT

On January 29 we received notification that the URLs for the Elsevier electronic journals had been changed and as a result our access to these ejournals through Yorkline ceased to work. I would like to thank Rita Carcasole and Karen Cassel who worked very hard to change over 1000 URLs in a few days. Using the Keyboard Express software, a macro was created and mapped to their keyboard to assist Karen and Rita in this task.

Multivolume Clean-up Project: Linda Gamble and Linda Smith corrected 33 titles and 296 volumes.

UPDATE

The document outlining our procedures for processing non sound cd-roms as accompanying material has been revised to include instructions on what to do if the cd-rom has a different title from that of the book.

COMPUTING

Rita Carcasole’s workstation was upgraded to Windows 2000 Professional during February. I would like to thank LCS and in particular Martin Alexander for his good work during the installation and follow-up process. Martin’s care and attention made the upgrade process a smooth transition.
