CATALOGUE ENHANCEMENT

Multivolume Clean-up Project:

Linda Smith corrected 9 titles and 73 volumes.

AG-Canada

AG-Canada, a vendor from whom we obtain cataloguing copy is launching a new interface to their suite of products (MARCit, TRACEit, MARCIT-Z39.50), For the time being we still will be using the new interface to MARCit to drop records in their database and import Canadiana authority records as required. Training in the use of the new interface will be provided by AG-Canada and arranged in late March or early April 2004.

H. Fraser worked with H. Hui of Library Computing to configure a new SmartPort policy in the TEST database which will point to the new AG-Canada MARCIT-Z39.50 target.

Sources of Cataloguing Copy

H. Fraser has been looking at the Z39.50 application that is part of the MARCEdit software. This can be used to enhance our ability to find other sources of cataloguing copy and also to have access to connection files we could use to configure other SmartPort destinations.
