CATALOGUE ENHANCEMENT

Multivolume Clean-up Project:

M. Slinn and L. Smith corrected 39 titles and 294 volumes.

E. Culver and M. Wieliczkoworked on a project to correct almost 500 MARC records for the Oregon Health and Physical Education theses that loaded with the MANUSCRPT instead of the MARC format.

Bib. Services staff attended a Cataloguers training session conducted by M. Steeves.

OTHER

Steve Green visited on May 14^th to present an overview of the planned AG-Canada database restructuring to the Cataloging Committee.

Sophie Bury, a new librarian in the Business and Government Publications Library had an orientation to Bibliographic Services on May 21.

H. Fraser and M. Steeves met with Prof. Leslie Sanders and graduate assistant Rosita from Atkinson on May 23 concerning the Researching Black Canadian Music and Black Music Cultures in Canada conference. The video proceedings of this conference are to be presented on York Universitys African Canadian Online website. We offered to catalogue the video files once they are available on the website and gave some advice on what type of metadata to use in the website.

Discs for the May 2003 release of Validator arrived and were networked but a problem with use on staff workstations was discovered. M. Steeves identified and resolved the problem with the networked installation and the product is now working properly. Thank you Merle!

M. Steeves conducted training sessions in the use of the Catalogers Desktop product for Monograph Acquisitions staff and Law Library Cataloguing staff.
