Ask A Librarian: Email and Telephone Reference
Email and telephone reference services are available to York students, staff and faculty. (See Ask a Question for how to get research help in person or through online chat.)
Email reference is ideal for obtaining brief, factual information about a research topic. More complex questions may need to be discussed in person at the library, but we will try to provide you with initial suggestions to begin your search. The mailboxes will be checked Monday through Friday when the library is open. You will receive a response by 5 p.m. the next weekday.
To phone a reference desk, dial 416-736-2100 and then enter the extension number.
