I think strict measures should be taken against those who use computers to socialise rather than studying,it’s untolerable.

Thanks Laura. It’s always been a challenge to provide enough computers for students. We are short on study seating of all kinds (computers and non-computer seats too). We hope the work on the 2nd floor will help address the campus shortage of library seating and computer workstations. Phase 2 of the Learning Commons renovation (for which we are currently fundraising), should also help by providing additional computer workstations.

It’s not only because of the construction. Any student will tell you that when exams/papers come around, there are not enough computers. This issue has been around before construction started.

Hi Arif,
You are absolutely right. Right now we are a bit short on computers in the Scott Library because of the construction. When the construction is complete (mid-October) we’ll be installing about 100 computers (about 50 in the Collaboratory, 40 in the Hub and 16 in the Salon. I hope that helps.
