If you’ve been in the Scott Library recently, you know there are major changes afoot. Every day there seem to be changes on the 2nd floor. We know how eager you all are to see the yellow tape come down and be able to explore the new Learning Commons!
Rest assured, it will be soon!
There are three areas of construction: the Hub (just off the Atrium), the Salon (where the reference collection is located), and the Collaboratory (a huge new room down the hallway near the escalators).
Work continues on all three areas. If you want to take a peek in the Salon you may- it is mostly complete except for a few finishes. The Hub, where supports and services like the Info Desk, research consultations and writing instruction “pods” will be located, is nearing completion. We hope it will be just a week or two until it’s open for you to use. The Collaboratory will open a bit later in mid October.
In the meantime, mark your calendars – we are planning a huge Learning Commons Open House and Celebration during the afternoon of October 20th. Stay tuned for more details!
