Libraries and departments within the Scott Library:
The Scott Library on the Keele campus houses the social sciences and humanities collections and services as well as Archives and Special Collections, the Map Library, and the Sound and Moving Image Library (SMIL). Materials include books, journals, microtexts, maps, audiovisual formats, archival papers, government documents, and electronic resources. Scott Circulation and Reserve Services are located on the first floor with photocopy services, group study rooms and instructions rooms. The Map Library and SMIL and the Microtext Room are also on that level. The Scott Research & Collections department, Current Periodicals Room, and Resource Sharing are on the second floor. You will find Archives and Special Collections and the University Librarian’s Office on the third. Library Accessibility Services are available on the first floor of Central Square.
The books, bound journals, and government documents are on the third through fifth floors. Study seating is available throughout the building. A quiet study area has been designated in the room off the fourth floor balcony. Internet-enabled computers are available on every floor. Many computers on the second floor also provide access to the Microsoft Office suite of software.
