There are two ways (1. or 2. below) to make RACER requests: search RACER and populate a request or fill out a blank request form for items RACER does not find. Choose either method below.
1. Search RACER to find the item you need
Advanced Search is recommended.
Select the library catalogues you wish to search – all “Ontario universities” is the default.
To search for a book, type in title or a combination of title and author and click on GO! Tip: Use quotation marks to search for an exact phrase. Do not use abbreviations.
To search for a journal article, type in journal title and click on GO!
TIP: you are looking for a match on bibliographic details, NOT a library location.
Submit an interlibrary loan request
From the search results, verify that an item is the one you want (e.g. specific edition) and click on Get It!
Supply additional information on the ILL form as required (e.g. author and title of journal article, volume and page numbers).
2. Fill out a blank request form
Choose
Blank Request Form (from the left side tool bar under My Account)
Complete the blank form and submit.
Note: Select from the dropdown Format list to indicate the format required: book, article, part of a book, thesis, etc. Use Other for archival materials.
