York University open access policy for librarians and archivists

Librarians and archivists at York University are currently considering adopting an open access policy.

Librarians and archivists at York University are encouraged to submit their scholarly works to publishers that do not restrict access to scholarship. A list of open access journals which focus on aspects of libraries and archives has been compiled as a resource.

Another path to achieving open access to scholarship is to publish with a journal that allows an author to self-archive their research in an institutional repository, or to seek permission directly from the publisher to self-archive one’s works. These resources can help with this process.

The YorkSpace Resource Site provides instructional documentation and videos for self-archiving in YorkSpace.
