Services for Faculty and Graduate Students
Obtaining Your Library Card
Faculty
Contract faculty members may apply for a York library card at the Scott Circulation Desk. First time applicants should present a letter of introduction from the department, or any other document that confirms that a person is a York faculty member. A library card with 100-day extended loan privileges will be issued. Material checked out on 100 day loan maybe recalled if needed by another user. Newly appointed faculty not on a contract should apply for a YU-card. Current full time faculty should also obtain a YU-card to replace their existing library card.
Graduate Students
All Graduate students are granted extended loan borrowing privileges. With extended loan privileges books are automatically charged out for 100 days. Material checked out on 100 day loan maybe recalled if needed by another user.
Research Assistant
Arrangements may be made for Research Assistants to borrow Library materials in a faculty member’s name for the regular faculty loan period. These cards are valid for the duration of the contract. Applications for a Research Assistant Library Card are available at Scott and Frost Circulation Desks. All charges incurred on the card are the responsibility of the faculty member.
