Reserves

Search the catalogue for materials on Reserve.

Reserves are materials with a short loan period placed in a separate location in the library at the request of instructors for use of York University students.The Reserve Desk in Scott is located adjacent to the main Circulation Desk. Scott Circulation Reserves processes materials for Arts, Atkinson College (excluding science-related courses), Education, Environmental Studies, Fine Arts and Graduate Studies courses.

To Borrow Reserve Material

In order to borrow reserve material you must have a valid library card and the call number of the item you wish to borrow.  Items will be charged out to you at the Reserve Desk.

Please return all reserve materials directly to the appropriate Reserve Desk drop box.

Loan Period

Reserve materials may be checked out at any time. One day and three day loans must be returned before closing on the due date. Two hour items which are checked out less than 2 hours before closing are due one hour after opening time on the next day that the Libraries are open.

Reserve materials out on loan must be returned to the Reserve Desk. There are no renewals on reserve materials, and holds cannot be placed on them.

Consult specific library locations as loan periods and circulation procedures may vary in each reserve section.

Fines

One and three day loans: $5.00 per day to a maximum of $100.00 per item
Hourly loans: $3.00 per hour or any part thereof to a maximum of $100.00 per item
