Internet & Correspondence Courses
Internet-based or correspondence course
Whether you are teaching a wholly Internet-based course or a correspondence course, the reality is that you won’t be seeing much of your students. Although they may be registered in other traditional or hybrid courses, and have phsyical access to York’s libraries, they may just as easily be enrolled in your course from another province or even another continent. Some important informtion on how you can help your students make use of our collections and services even if they can’t visit the campus personally is included below:
What we offer now:
- Our existing web pages for both information navigation and intellectual access to all library holdings
- Over 11,000 electronic journals and 200 research databases
- Off-campus access to these full-text electronic resources; click here for more information
- E-mail and live chat research assistance
- A wide range of web-based tutorials
- Inter-Campus and Inter-Library borrowing services; click here for more information
What we can also work with you to produce:
- course-based Web pages
- instruction sessions using chat reference/conferencing software
For further information on any of these services, please contact the Information Literacy Coordinator, Lisa Sloniowski via e-mail or at 736-2100 x20072.
