On Tuesday September 9, Scott Library hosted its first (annual?) Graduate Student Open House, in conjunction with the Graduate Studies Orientation day.
It was held in the Graduate Student Reading Room (4th floor Scott), which was an excellent space for informal conversation and mingling.
Scott Librarians and Department Heads were on hand to talk about the services YUL has to offer graduate students.
The wired space allowed each ‘presenter’ the possibility of highlighting their online services if they chose.
There was a scrolling presentation containing factoids about Library services, resources and brief introductions of subject librarians.
A rough estimate on the number of attendees? 150 graduate students.

The event was organized by Mark Robertson, AUL for Information Services, who had this to say about the event: “Thanks to all who came and especially to all who put together displays. A special thanks to Sophie, Rajiv, Catherine and Karen Purino for all their work pulling it together. I am hoping we’ll do it again next year! “
