Here is a screen shot of one of the helpful characters from Module 1 of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) online course.
All York personnel are required to take the AODA training course. It is is interactive and takes about 1.5 hours to complete. It will explain the legislation and the responsibilities of the University with respect to the legislation.
There are 3 Modules:
- Understanding the AODA and the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service
- Communicating with Customers with Disabilities
- Serving Customers with Disabilities
You may complete all three modules in one sitting or in stages (you will be able to return at a later time to where you left off).
To roll it out, departments have been assigned windows for their staff to complete the course.
The Libraries’ window is
May 1, 2010 to June 15, 2010.
Staff will need a Passport York account in order to access the course. Already have one? Click here to complete the course.
