Congratulations to Voice of York nominee, Janet Cheng

Janet Cheng was nominated for the President’s “Voice of York” Award by her colleagues in Scott Reference.

The Voice of York Award is given to an individual employed as a receptionist or who is a first-line-of-contact person at York University. The most important voice of York is the one that callers or visitors hear first. Tact and professionalism, particularly in handling difficult or sensitive situations, is essential to our work at York University.

Above, is a photo of Janet being presented with the package she received from the President.

Janet’s nomination is a testament to the esteem of her colleagues and it’s impressive to be nominated for the award,  which requires letters of support from both inside and outside her home department.  Janet has been working  in the Libraries for over 20 years, providing excellent service.

Congratulations Janet!
Janet responds:

Thank you for the post in the Staff Blog about my nomination for the President’s Staff Award. I just like to thank everyone who had taken the time and effort to give me this honour. Like everyone who attended this breakfast said, we are proud to be a member of the York University and will be York’s ambassador as much as we possibly could.
