Interested in being on the Strategic Plan Steering Committee??

To All YUL staff:

If you would like to be considered, or would like to suggest someone, please contact Catherine Davidson, Mark Robertson and Cynthia Archer by June 15.

A new strategic planning exercise is getting under way with the goal of having a completed plan by January 2012  to address a four-year span of 2012-2015.

The Plan will be coordinated by a Steering Committee whose membership will include:

  • University Librarian
  • Associate University Librarian – Collections
  • Associate University Librarian – Information Services
  • Four librarians
  • Two library staff

The YUL Strategic Steering Committee will be drawn from librarians and staff who will collectively work toward the best interest and success of the project (i.e. not simply represent specific areas). The Committee is charged with overseeing the development of a new strategic plan and ensuring appropriate communications and consultation with the library and wider university campus community. The Committee will recommend strategic goals and strategies to Library Forum. The term of the group will end when the strategic plan is completed and endorsed. The University Academic Plan and the Provostial White Paper will be key guiding documents with which the completed final YUL strategic plan will be aligned.

Steering Committee tentative timeline of events

  • July:  Map strategic plan process, communications and plan retreats

  • September & October:  Collect information and organize for all-day all staff retreat
  • November:  Hold all-day all staff retreat
  • December:  Draft plan for Library Forum and collect feedback
