At the August 12 Library Forum meeting, we talked about what this interim period over the next 6-12 months will look like for all of us in the Libraries.
Clearly, one of our top priorities will include intensive work to develop a response to the AAPR Task Force reports, due out November 1.
Another priority will be to take stock of where we are as an organization currently, and to start identifying where we need to be heading , particularly in light of directions that we can expect to emerge following the AAPR response process. The “taking stock” process involves providing many opportunities for discussion and expression of opinions on both where we are now and where we need to be going.
One “taking stock” session was held for Library Forum members on August 18th that produced a wealth of ideas and comments that we will use to help us inform next steps. Suzanne Killick, Director of Talent Acquisition & Development, and Director, Better Workplace facilitated this session.
We will hold a second “taking stock” exercise to which all staff are invited to continue to contribute to building those rich ideas and observations.
Please mark your calendars for this session on September 8, (PM TBD) 519 Kaneff Tower. We are very eager to hear from you. (Note that to this end, we are also scheduling visits to each department which will provide another opportunity for you to share your views).
We look forward to seeing you on September 8.
