Steacie Science and Engineering Library opened on October 14, 1966. It houses 100,000 circulating books in general science, mathematics and statistics, computer science and technology, physics, chemistry, earth science, biology, kinesiology, neuroscience and nursing; 3500 reference books, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, and compendia of data; 600 print journals (120,000 bound volumes); and both general and specialized science indexing and abstracting services mostly in electronic format. Most of the science journals are available online through different publishers, consortia agreements, and content providers. Please click here for a detailed list of subject research guides.
In addition, books on social and behavioural statistics, health, business and economic statistics are available at Scott Library. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of subjects, Scott’s collection includes books on health care management, health policy, and mental health care. Steacie Library also has a Microcard collection in the basement that includes the Landmarks of Science series, which is an extensive collection of historically significant scientific manuscripts.
