We’re pleased to announce that on September 1 we’re updating and upgrading our web site. Have a look at beta.library.yorku.ca to see what it will look like.
The two big changes are:
- A new home page. Searching is now front and centre, because we now it’s the thing you do most. Also, all of our branches and their opening hours are listed right on the home page so you can see at a glance what’s open.
- A new look. We’re using the standard York web page design for all of our web pages now. The red navigation menu bar at the top of each page will give you instant access to the most useful sections of our site no matter where you are.
One thing you’ll notice is that the left navigation menu on each page looks ugly. It looks that way for a technical reason, and we’ll change it when we switch the entire web site over to this new look. It will look quite nice, nicer than the left navigation menu on our current web site.
We haven’t moved any pages around on our web site, so all of your links and bookmarks will continue to work. We just changed the look of the site.
We hope you like the new home page and the new look. Please leave a comment here with any suggestions or feedback, or e-mail library@yorku.ca. Please let us know of any problems you run into or errors you encounter.
