INTERNATIONAL INDEX TO FILM PERIODICALS – FIAF
Created by the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF) in Paris in 1938, FIAF is a collaborative association of film archives whose purpose is to ensure the proper preservation and showing of motion pictures. FIAF is a tool for film studies, indexing more than 500,000 articles from 340 academic and popular film journals, dating from 1972 onward. The database also incorporates the International Index to TV Periodicals; Treasures from the Film Archives, which identifies silent film holdings in archives around the world, and the International Directory of Film/TV Documentation Collections. AMERICAN FILM INSTITUTE CATALOG – AFI Catalog
The American Film Institute Catalog covers the history of American cinema from 1893 to 1974. Newly incorporated into AFI are their 100 Year Lists including the top 100 movies, 25 Greatest Movie Musicals, top 25 film scores, top 50 actors and top 10 movies of 2008. FILM INDEX INTERNATIONAL – FII
Film Index International is a companion to the AFI Catalog, covering international films from over 170 countries from 1900 to the present. FII is created in conjunction with the British Film Institute and provides indexing to movies from the very first silent movies to the latest blockbusters, including coverage of international film awards.
