Scott Library, the Steacie Science and Engineering Library, and the Peter F. Bronfman Library will remain today, December 14th, due to the lack of heat on the Keele campus. Frost Library at the Glendon campus will be open regular hours, however, material requested for transfer between Glendon and Keele campuses will not be processed today.
From York’s home page:
“KEELE CAMPUS CLOSED – CLASSES AND EXAMS POSTPONED
TORONTO, December 13, 2010 – A major fire in the Central Utilities Building at York University’s Keele Campus has taken down the university’s steam boilers and co-generators and left the university without heat. There have been no casualties and the fire has been extinguished.
All exams scheduled for this evening and tomorrow, as well as classes and other on-campus activities, at the university’s Keele Campus are cancelled and will be rescheduled. This includes exams scheduled for the Rexall Centre.
Non-essential staff at the Keele campus should not report for work on Tuesday, December 14, 2010
Information – including exam rescheduling information – will be provided as soon as it becomes available; please check for updates on the University website and/or check the University’s emergency telephone line (416-736-5600).”
We will monitor the situation and will also update the Library website when Keele branches are allowed to open again.
