Canada in WWI: The End of War and Present Day Remembrances

This is our third and final week of our Canada and The Great War display – Part 3: “The End of War and Present Day Remembrances.”

We round off our exhibition by showcasing the subjects of “Aftermath of the War”, “Women”, “Current Scholarly Research” and “Cultural Responses”.

We were able to include examples from all the branches of the York University Libraries (Bronfman, Frost, Osgoode, Steacie and Scott) as well as objects from SMIL, the Map Library and the Nellie Langford Rowell Library. We used the databases for two newspapers, The Globe and Mail as well as the Toronto Star to bookend the display with front page copies. Many photos were obtained from the City of Toronto Archives which added greater scope to our project. A large percentage of the unique articles shown, however, came from the Clara Thomas Archives and Special Collections.

Thank you again to all that helped make this display possible.
