Trial: GRAND CORPUS DES LITTÉRATURES FRANÇAISE ET FRANCOPHONE, DU MOYEN ÂGE AU 20e SIÈCLE

The library is currently running a trial of the Grand Corpus des littératures françaises et francophones aka The Great Corpus of French and Francophone literature (click on Databases’ direct URL).

The Great Corpus of French and Francophone literature from the Middle Ages to the 20th century offers the 4 online corpus of literature published by Classiques Garnier Numérique:
- the Corpus of medieval literature from the origins to the end of the 15th century
- the Corpus of narrative literature, from the Middle Ages to the 20th century
- the Corpus of Francophone literature from Black Africa, from the origins to Independence
- the Corpus of literature from the Indian Ocean, from the origins to Independence

Scholars Portal service interruption – Saturday September 7

As a result of a planned upgrade to the Pillar storage array, a number of Scholars Portal services will be unavailable for a period of time on Saturday September 7.

The following services will be unavailable from Friday September 6, 11 PM to Saturday September 7, 3 PM:

- Journals

- Books

- ODESI

- GeoPortal

- SCOT and SPUD analysis tools

- Dataverse

RefWorks will be unavailable for 24 hours from Friday September 6, 11 PM to Saturday September 7, 11 PM.

Emergency Shutdown of Scholars Portal Services, Sunday July 28

Scholars Portal has been advised by their storage vendor to proceed with an upgrade to their Pillar storage array as soon as possible, following last week’s cooling and hardware issues. This will help prevent similar drive failures in the future.  As a result of this upgrade, a number of Scholars Portal services will be unavailable for a period of time this weekend.

The following services will be unavailable from Sunday July 28, 8 AM to Monday July 29, 8 AM:
- Journals
- Books
- ODESI
- GeoPortal
- SCOT and SPUD analysis tools
- Dataverse
- RefWorks
 
This weekend’s maintenance is in addition to the planned service outage for the August holiday weekend, which is due to a scheduled full electrical shutdown of the Robarts Library building.

At that time, ALL Scholars Portal services will be unavailable from Monday August 5, 5 AM to Tuesday August 6, 5 AM.

We have recently added Arte Público Hispanic Historical Collection: Series 1 to our collections.

The Latino-Hispanic American Experience: The Arte Público Hispanic Historical Collection Series 1 presents a digital collection of historical content pertaining to U.S. Hispanic history, literature, political commentary, and culture. This collection conveys the creative life of U.S. Latinos and Hispanics – shedding new light on the intellectual vigor and traditional values that have characterized them from the earliest moments of this country’s history through contemporary times. The Latino-Hispanic American Experience focuses exclusively on the Latino-Hispanic history in the United States.

The Latino-Hispanic American Experience collection draws its content from the “Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Project.” The project functions under the direction of Dr. Nicolás Kanellos, founder and director of Arte Público Press and includes publications from all regions of the nation.
