Laptop printing works again
Printing to library computers from your laptop is working again! York Remote Printing has all of the instructions and drivers you will need to set this up on your Windows or OS X laptop. You’ll be able to print on any library printer (as well as some printers in colleges and the William Small Centre) over Air York.
New lab at Steacie almost done
A new computer and instruction lab is under construction at the Steacie Science and Engineering Library. It’s almost done, and we’ll post some pictures when it’s ready. It’ll be a “quiet” lab, so if the main floor gets a bit noisy you can go down there. The room will be open to students most of the time, except when it’s needed for teaching and instruction sessions by librarians or the Institute for Social Research.
There are lots of computers available in Steacie already, at all of the other libraries, and elsewhere on campus too.
How to activate your Acadlabs account
You need an Acadlabs account to use the computers in the libraries. Activate your Acadlabs service through Manage My Services, or ask at a library desk for someone to help you.
- YUELI (York University English Language Institute) students can now also activate their accounts through Manage My Services.
- Student clubs and organizations must obtain a verification letter from Student Community and Leadership Development. This letter must verify your group and its executive. Bring it to the help desk at the Computing Commons in William Small Centre. Help Services will then activate the required Acadlabs account.
