We have added some new products from Adam Matthew to our Online Collections.

Mass Observation III

The latest addition to Mass Observation Online will further supplement coverage of the war-years and for the first time includes personal writing material from the post-war years.

The new content provides research opportunities from an age of post-war austerity and the rise of consumerism and the welfare state:

  • demobilisation
  • health and the NHS
  • reconstruction
  • industry
  • sport
  • holidays and leisure

 

Foreign Office Files for CHINA (1919-1929)

The three parts of this collection make available all British Foreign Office files dealing with China, Hong Kong and Taiwan between 1919 and 1948:

  • 1919-1929: Kuomintang, CCP and the Third International
  • 1930-1937: The Long March, Civil War in China and the Manchurian Crisis
  • 1938-1948: Open Door, Japanese War and the Seeds of Communist Victory [due in 2014]

Campus Wide Internet Service Interruption: Sunday February 17th, 08:00-11:00.

Please be aware that there will be two short network service interruptions
on Sunday February 17th between 08:00-11:00.

Each interruption will last about 15 minutes and will affect all network
traffic leaving and entering the campus.

The first interruption will affect all academic buildings, the second
interruption will affect all residence buildings.

This interruption in service is required to implement an upgrade to the
network border bandwidth capacity and introduce a new network Intrusion
Prevention system.

Libraries closed due to weather emergency Friday

Libraries at Keele and Glendon campuses will be closed Friday, February 8.
From the website: “The University has adopted Weather Emergency Procedures at its Keele and Glendon Campuses. All day and evening classes have been cancelled and examinations postponed. University offices and Libraries are closed.”
