RE: Monograph Acquisitions Monthly report October 2002

DATE: Nov. 4, 2002

  1. Student: During October, Saraya and Bib Serv. staff did a variety of weeding and transfer projects. 129 items were weeded from Steacie, 62 weeded from Frost, and 81 weeded from Government Documents. 353 items were transferred to storage from Reference. 27 CIIA gifts were added to the collection and 16 were sent to the National Book Exchange.
  1. Copy Cataloguing. Monograph Acquisitions staff catalogued a total of 2070 items this month. This figure includes the shelf ready from YBP. This month Letty Luke was on vacation the entire month prior to beginning her retirement. So figures are down and will continue to be so as we try to keep up with fewer staff.
  1. Nancy Hall attended a two day session on Human Resources Management which had some useful insight to the arbitration process and many facets of employment at York in a union environment.
  1. Some members of staff attended the Health and Safety training offered as a result of the Work Well Audit. We have two members left to attend a session this fall.
