call for workshops

The 40th International Association for Social Science Information Services and Technology (IASSIST) annual conference will be held in Toronto, Canada on June 3-6, 2014.

NOTE: The deadline for submissions to IASSIST 2014 has passed!

The theme of this year’s conference is Aligning Data and Research Infrastructure. This year’s conference theme touches upon the international and interdisciplinary requirements of aligning data and research infrastructure. You may read more about the theme elsewhere on this website.

The conference committee seeks workshops that highlight this year’s theme. We will look for workshops to fit within three broad areas: managing research data; providing data services; and developing data infrastructure tools. Successful workshop proposals will blend lecture and active learning techniques.

The conference planning committee will provide the necessary classroom space and computing supplies for workshops. For previous examples of IASSIST workshops, please see our 2010 workshops and our 2013 workshops. Typically workshops are half-day with 2-hour and 3-hour options. Workshops will be held on June 3, 2013.

  • Deadline for submission: 9 December 2013
  • Notification of acceptance: 7 February 2014

Please email Lynda Kellam, the IASSIST Workshop Coordinator if you have questions.
