Digital and Information Literacy: Our librarians collaborate with faculty from across campus to embed digital and information literacy skills into the curriculum through developing learning outcomes that strengthen these literacies, and designing assignments that teach lifelong skills to help navigate and evaluate the modern information landscape. Librarians teach classes, sessions, and workshops on digital and information literacy in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Blended Learning Modules: Our team has extensive experience developing instructional modules that supplement course materials and enhance skills in a wide range of areas, such as academic integrity, research skills, navigating the library catalogue, and more.

Develop Impactful Co-Curricular Programming: In addition to developing modules for various courses, our librarians and archivists also focus on creating a wide range of co-curricular programming available to all York students. We offer a number of different workshops ranging from research skills to presentation skills that map to skills desired by employers.

Open Educational Resources (OER): The Libraries are one of the leaders for open education on campus, and our team regularly provides sessions on open educational resources and how they can be incorporated into York’s curriculum. Our team also works with faculty on finding and evaluating OERs for their courses, as well as collaborating to develop new materials. The Student Learning and Academic Success Department also serves as the University’s conduit to eCampus Ontario and can connect faculty with opportunities to create new OERs for a wider audience.
