Read on to learn more about these useful resources and how they can help you out with your business research!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.library.yorku.ca\/e\/resolver\/id\/2331880\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mergent Archives<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This database is an excellent source for corporate history research and is particularly useful for business students taking any business history courses such as MGMT 1030 in the BBA program. I recommend looking at the <a href=\"http:\/\/researchguides.library.yorku.ca\/content.php?pid=597173&amp;sid=5077595\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Company History section<\/a>\u00a0of this guide for additional company history database tips and tricks!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.library.yorku.ca\/e\/resolver\/id\/2564435\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Key Business Ratios<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While Mergent Archives will give you access to the historical Key Business Ratios (KBR) books from 1979 to 2013, we also have a subscription to the current KBR data. By using this resource, you'll be able to retrieve industry benchmarks for public and private companies that include 14 key business ratios such as solvency, efficiency and profitability.<\/p>\n<p>By using this database you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Choose\u00a0a one-year or three-year set of ratios for public and private companies in 800 lines of business<\/li>\n<li>Search for industries using <a href=\"http:\/\/researchguides.library.yorku.ca\/content.php?pid=542551&amp;sid=4462923\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SIC or NAICS codes<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Input financial data and instantly compare any balance sheet with industry benchmarks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Steston University\u00a0has developed a useful<a href=\"http:\/\/guides.stetson.edu\/content.php?pid=529861&amp;sid=4378245\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> research guide\u00a0with step-by-step instructions<\/a> on how to effectively\u00a0access ratios in KBR.<\/p>\n<p>While KBR \u00a0is a useful resource, the Bronfman Library's collection contains many other resources that provide students and faculty with substantial benchmarking data for industries. Our <a href=\"http:\/\/researchguides.library.yorku.ca\/content.php?pid=360682&amp;sid=2951717\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Finance Research Guide<\/a>, created by Xuemei Li, includes an extensive list of subscription and free print and online tools available at the library to help with benchmarking research.<\/p>\n<p>We hope you enjoy using both KBR and Mergent Archives.
