York University Libraries (YUL) acquires a significant number of electronic resources annually. While formats vary widely — for example, streaming audio and video, and digital archives, to name a few — it is ebooks and ejournals that form most of the Libraries’ ongoing collection building. YUL collects lots of both, so let’s look at some Top 10 lists for 2025!
Top 10 ebooks used in 2025
At the top of the list is the venerable OED, available online, with 5,429 unique uses in 2025. “Legacies of violence: history, society, and the state in Sardinia” rounds out the list with 1,478 unique uses.
Top 10 ejournals used in 2025
HBR remains a very popular title with 23,608 unique uses in 2025, giving it a commanding first-place position. “Nature” and “Science” remain perennial favourites, as do the seminal Canadian journals “The Canadian historical review” and the “Journal of Canadian studies”.
