About Us

Andrea Kosavic

Dean of Libraries (interim)

Dear members of the York University community,

I am delighted to welcome you to York University Libraries. Our libraries are not just repositories of books and knowledge; they are sites of knowledge generation and technological possibility, intellectual exploration, research, and learning.

We are committed to providing a rich and dynamic environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. Our dedicated team of librarians, archivists, and staff are here to assist you in navigating the vast world of information. Whether it be our curricular and co-curricular offerings in the areas of digital, data and information literacy, access to media creation expertise, technologies and spaces, access to a wide range of digital and print resources, or collaborative spaces for study and scholarly endeavours, we are here to support your academic success.

I encourage you to explore all that the Libraries have to offer across our soon to be six branches. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or assistance you may need. I look forward to seeing all that we can achieve together in the pursuit of knowledge and excellence.

If you haven’t had a chance, be sure to visit our revamped website, particularly those sections on Ask & Services which provide information on services and resources for students and faculty, including Library Accessibility Services. Our Research & Learn section will provide information on Research Guides, Teaching & Faculty Support including how to book a library class, place items on reserve or link to eResources from eClass. You’ll also find important links to our scholarly publishing supports, such as our investments in open access publishing and article processing charge discounts, YorkSpace (our open access institutional repository), and the York Digital Journals that we host. Under Collections, we provide access to an array of digital collections and exhibits, as well as information on Suggestions for Purchase.

You can also consult our list of Librarians, Archivists and Other Key Contacts for more information.

We wish you a very successful year.
