How to Order

York University Libraries fulfills requests for books, articles, newspapers on microfilm, etc. in various formats (physical and digital) to libraries around the world. For our holdings, check our catalogue.

We lend material from Frost, Scott, Steacie, Bronfman, Markham, and Osgoode Hall Law Libraries.

Osgoode Hall Law Library offers direct interlibrary loan and document delivery services to Canadian law firms and lawyers for material held in their collection.

York University Libraries does not provide interlibrary loan services to members of the public. We encourage these patrons to come to the library in person, or to consult the interlibrary loan service at their local public library.

LOANS

Our loan periods range from 3 weeks to 120 days from date of receipt. Renewals may be permitted. Requests for reference, rare books, and microtext collections are considered individually and the loan period may be shorter with use restricted to library only.  We do not lend eBooks.  All loans are subject to recall.

PERIODICALS

We do not lend periodicals, with the following exceptions:  we will lend annuals which usually circulate and we will lend microfilmed periodicals more than ten years old. Requests for newspapers on microfilm will be considered individually.

THESES

If we hold a circulating hard copy, we will lend.  Copies of York theses may be purchased from ProQuest Dissertations & Theses.

AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIAL

Our film and video collection is in high demand for classroom use and is not available for interlibrary loan.  Audio materials are also non-circulating.
