Open Education Training Program for AIF recipients

Welcome to the York University Libraries’ Open Education Training Program for Academic Innovation Fund (AIF) recipients. This training supports AIF recipients in fulfilling the open educational resource (OER) component of their AIF contracts with the university. 

This educational program has been developed by York University Libraries in coordination with the Open Education Steering Committee

The program is offered in eClass, and consists of 4 modules:

  • OER: 101
  • Copyright & Open Licensing
  • Finding & Evaluating OER
  • Depositing to YorkSpace

Each module contains required and optional components:

  • Optional: A warm-up activity meant to be completed before the live Zoom session or the pre-recorded lecture (typically 10 minutes).
  • Required: A live Zoom session or a pre-recorded lecture (1 hour and 15 minutes).
  • Optional: A Building Block Activity meant to be completed after the live Zoom session or pre-recorded lecture, which will help you build deliverables for your AIF project (time commitment ranges from 15 minutes to 1 hour).
  • A list of additional resources and readings to help you learn more about the module's topic.

Participants will be enrolled in eClass one week before the program starts.

Training Dates:

  • Synchronous option: July 6, July 13, July 20 & July 27 (Zoom sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 11am-12:15pm EDT)
  • Asynchronous option: All 4 modules will be released on July 6th. The eClass forums will be monitored until August 2, 2021.
