York University Libraries is proud to host "Love Letters to the Past and Future," an exhiting exhibit curated by renowned digital media scholar Dene Grigar. This showcase is part of the ELO25 @ 25 festival, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Electronic Literature Organization (ELO), and invites visitors to explore the emotional and technological dimensions of time through digital art and storytelling.
Curated with care and vision by Dene —Director of the Creative Media & Digital Culture Program at Washington State University Vancouver and a leading voice in electronic literature—the exhibit features a rich tapestry of multimedia works. These include AI-generated narratives, interactive poetry, archival remixes, and digital ephemera that reflect on the past and speculate about the future.
Set in the Scott Library Atrium, the exhibit is both a love letter to the legacy of electronic literature and hope in the digital age.
This exhibit is part of a broader celebration of ELO’s 25-year journey, co-hosted by York University and the University of Waterloo. It invites visitors to reflect on how digital media can preserve, transform, and reimagine our most intimate connections across time.
