Using library licensed content

York University Libraries license a wide variety of electronic resources for use by York faculty, staff, and students and make them discoverable and available for use via Omni. When you use electronic resources, you must comply with the terms and conditions of the license that the Libraries have signed when accessing and using the content. Do note what is permitted by the license because it varies across resources and platforms.

License terms and conditions are currently available by either clicking "License Terms of Use" or "Show License" within Omni.

Below is a guide to what "Show License" terms and conditions mean.

If there is no information displayed for a particular term or condition, it means the license does not address it. If the proposed use for the content falls within what is permitted by the terms and conditions stated, then it is not necessary to inquire further. If you do have further questions, please contact yul_cda@yorku.ca.
