On this page you will find specific libguides to create permalinks or permanent links to electronic resources. These links can easily be used in your Moodle course packs and other online student resources. Permalinks are stable links that makes it easier for the York University community to access e-articles, e-books and other scholarly content especially from off-campus locations. Persistent or permanent links allow access to subscribed resources via proxy server and hence they provide seamless authentication. Permalinks are also used to help track statistics to e-resources which helps us purchase the right resources for the York academic community.
Making a permalink to articles in each database is slightly different. In the following libguides, there are tabs which outline the method (that includes text instructions & screen shots) for creating permanent links to resources in the library catalogue and different scholarly databases.
- Creating Permanent links to articles in different databases
- Linking to an e-book from the library catalogue
- Linking to articles in Legal databases
- Linking to Library E-Resources for Business
